ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME
I come from an arts background which involved working in schools with adolescents, and young special needs. I ran art workshops which also included some community art projects. Helping others to engage and gain confidence In a creative new skill, through encouragement/support became a therapy in itself.
Moving from my arts background to becoming a therapist was a natural progression .

I have worked in a range to settings such as NHS, Turning Point, (drugs and Addictions) and Mind. I combine my work in private practice with working for a charity, The Young Concern Trust, counselling young people between 11-24. Having gained experience with a diverse and broad spectrum of clients has enriched my work as a therapist.

My interest and passion for counselling was initially inspired after going through my own personal therapy at a difficult time. This helped me to realise the power of feeling heard and understood within a safe non judgemental counselling space and to reach some of my own 'light bulb' moments. My aim is to hear your story unfold, and to be part of your journey, through warm, active, empathic listening.
I believe the relationship built between therapist and client forms the foundation needed for the work to grow and be productive.

My counselling practice is based in Bounds Green North London, and easily accessible by bus and tube.

After our first meeting we can both decide what feels right for you and if my style and approach suits your needs.

TESTIMONIALS

“I am without question feeling and functioning better since when I last saw you. I still have bleak periods now and then, but am able to handle them, and they pass. Its an on going process we all know that, but at least I am not wading through the dull, inarticulate despair that I was in this time last year. I feel I learned so much and gained so much with you, in the way of how to handle the life I am faced with now. I really want to thank you for your help.”

“Thank you so very much for your never ending patience, kindness and compassion. You have given me so very much help. I shall never forget you and wish you well in the future. This card sums up what I feel you have given me. “the right pair of shoes”.
